The Turkish Van cat
Turkish is ungatode ElgatoVan color and was developed from striking degatoscon brown spots that discovered English breeder on a trip to Turkey and took him to Europe.
Bears a resemblance to legated Angora. It developed naturally in the isolated region around Lake Van in Turkey. In 1955 several specimens were exported to England and was recognized the breed in 1969.
The coat should be white chalk, with no trace of yellow. Must be cream or brown spots on the face, but not below the eye level or beyond the base of the back of the ears, and a white patch on the forehead should separate, leaving white nose.
His body is long and robust, especially males muscular and strong with medium length legs and rounded paws and tail of medium length.
His character is quiet, affectionate and intelligent, very active. Often like water. It is a very domestic animal.
